AtwoodFest 2020 Cancelled -- AtwoodFest 2021 Scheduled for July 24-25, 2021

The Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara Neighborhood Association (SASY), the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, and the Barrymore Theatre (on behalf of the Atwood-Barrymore Corporation) are announcing today, Monday, June 1st that AtwoodFest 2020 has been cancelled. Originally scheduled for July 25-26, AtwoodFest 2021 will return big and better than ever on July 24-25.

For several weeks, we have known that this decision was inevitable. The safety of everyone involved – staff, volunteers, vendors, bands, attendees, sponsors, and of course the neighborhood and the general community had to be our top priority.

Months of deliberation and discussion took place. We considered as many options as we could. As the recently released Forward Dane Plan confirms, there is no way to hold an event like AtwoodFest, that adheres to the highest standards of safety and doesn’t compromise the experience for everyone involved. Wil-Mar, SASY, and the Barrymore are not willing risk everyone’s health by moving forward with the 2020 event.

We look forward to AtwoodFest 2021 and are already planning next year’s event. We promise a fun and sunny experience with a diversity of local food and craft vendors, great bands and fabulous music, and of course, exciting family activities.

AtwoodFest is an annual neighborhood music festival held on the last weekend in July on Atwood Avenue. The street is closed from Monty's Blue Plate Diner to Tex Tubbs and two Music stages are located at each end with a KidsFest, MakerMarket, Community Art Project, and tons of food and craft vendors between.

AtwoodFest is produced by SASY Neighborhood Association, in partnership with the Barrymore Theatre and the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center.
